Hi there...ideally cats should avoid eating any human foods because we are not certain which can be safe and which can be harmful. Popped popcorn can accidentally become lodged in the throat and cause choking. Additionally, feeding table scraps can lead to other feline metabolic disorders as well as obesity.

Yes! I used to give my cat (the one I had years ago) popcorn. I didn't think she would like it. But I had left a bowl on the couch to go into the kitchen, and when I came back, she was just about to steal some! So I gave her a little, and she loved it! From that day on, she would come running whenever she heard popcorn popping in the microwave!

Yes, cats can and do eat popcorn. The base for most cat foods is a grain (mainly corn) base mixed with a little "whatever flavor meat" meal. I would just worry about the atrificial preservatives that are in popcorn to keep it fresh in our cupboards. In small quantities I would not worry about it. Its just fiber and salt.

Cats can eat anything they want to. Unlike dogs (chocolate is suppose to be toxic and onions to, but my mother-in-law had a dog that eat m&m's -just a few -every day and she was 18 when they had to put her to sleep.) I on the other hand have a cat that is 14 and he even likes corn bread and cheetos. Go figure!

I have fed popcorn to cats and dogs before and it never hurt them. Maybe they like the butter flavor on it or something, I don't know. I currently have a cat that likes fiesta taco flavored cheese nips :o)

people have a hard enough time eating popcorn without choking, I doubt cats would do much better.

They can eat it..it won't kill them but i doubt they will eat it. I have a cat that will literally eat anything..hot dogs, eggs and bacon, crab cakes (seafood) sausage, i once had syrup on my plate and i wasn't paying attention and she licked it all up. So im sure she would eat popcorn haha.
