What are the social issues addressed in the movie "Children of Men" and what is this movie ultimately saying?

I understand that it is almost a biblical allegory, but I just don't get what it means, Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks

The movie is almost as overrated as the Da Vinci Code, its got a couple of interesting premises in the first 25 minutes then degenerates into one long chase sequence. Ultimately it says nothing.

very good movie that died 30 minutes into it , they had to have changed directors or somthing because the movie just became so bad
