Most likely there is a fuel leak in the engine bay, and the fumes are being drawn into those louvers at the base of your windshield. That's where the air goes into your heater and air cond system.

Has the car been repaired after an accident?
I have had this issue with two similar vehicles, one had been welded under the vehicle and the heat of the weld had melted the fuel return hose, the other had the fuel return hose and the vent hose fitted the wrong way around.
In both cases the problem was that pressure was able to build up in the tank and force a small amount of fuel past the hose fittings when the tank was more than half full. If you check around the fuel hose fittings for signs of leaking or fuel stains, that should give you a place to start looking.
All the best.

Most likely a problem with the filler neck. This is a rubber hose that goes from the tank to the filling port on the car body. An inexpensive item to buy, but can be a real pain to replace! Figure about an hour of shop time max.

You may have an exhaust leak or a fuel leak. Definetly get that looked at by a mechanic because inhaling the gas fumes can be dangerous.

Not good. Get it to a mechanic immediately. Could be a gas line leak.
