A little over a week ago I dyed my hair with loreal color pulse. It is a temporary hair coloring that is supposed to wash out in 8 to 10 washes. It is fading but not as fast as I would like since I would like to highlight my hair. My question is this... can you highlight over hair that has been dyed with a temp dye???

Yes you can. Be sure and condition your hair before and after you highlight.

It really depends on the health of your hair and how often u have used color in the past u can highlight over hair that has been temp color dye IF there are no damages to your hair as far as frizziness AND make sure you get a pro to do it!!! AND use a deep conditioning on it about three times a week for about a month. I used to be a cosmetologist for 30 years and i am not an old foggie i am only 47 yrs old

As long as the temporary color is not too far from your natural color it should wash out. If you want to remove it sooner you should use a dandruff shampoo and follow with a conditioner like clairol beauty pack. Although it is best to wait, you can highlight, as in use a product that has some lightening action and ingredient, over your temporary color.

Yes, you can if your hair is in good enough condition to take the bleach. Where you can run into some funky color is dyeing back over the hi-lights. Good luck.

Tt shouldn't strip your highlights. Wash out sprays are made to bathe out of your hair with out adverse your hair or perminant colorings on your hair. in case you truly are worried although perhaps placed on a wig???

Nope, In the instructions that come with the hair dye boxes, it says not to. I read it before.

the color pulse should wash out in about a week.
and then color it, just to be safe.
