The first Mustang was a concept car. Built in 1962, it was the the Mustang I. It was a two-seat roadster, with an all aluminum body and tube chassis. It was powered by a V4 European Ford engine. Joe Oros design the production Ford Mustang.

Ford sold mustangs in germany (I think it was germany , maybe another contry) and they already had a car called the mustang so ford sold them as a "T5"
