Okay, I'm so sick of school, it's too much of a pain.
I truly am unhappy going to school and being critized by a bunch of nasty brats.I hate having to get up in the morning for 6 hours of boring crap.

I hate having to get ready and putting on make-up, don't say I don't have to do that, cause I know I don't have to, but if I don't then I feel very self conscious, I wish I didn't, but I do.
I want to go the University of Texas because that's were my family and I are moving after I finish highschool.

Right now I really don't care about partying or hanging out a lot with friends because I can do that after high school.
But I really want to get homeschooled until senior year and so I was wondering if anyone had good resources.
My mom has enough to get me a teacher but that's a lot and I tend to be pretty conservative.

Also, I've heard of place where you pick up your homework and then do it at home or something like that so please, help me out.

My e-mail is alexandruh_yeah@yahoo.com.

I thought I would give an answer even though I am already emailing you, :-P.

I am currently in Connections Academy, it is done online and is considered public school because it gives you all the lessons and it even has teachers that grade the work. It does have a few classes that have Cd's but you really don't need them if you have Internet. They give you books and if you have financial problems they will pay for a few months Internet and at the beginning of the year they will send you a computer(if you don't already have one).

It is currently only available in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. If you live in one of these states I HIGHLY recommend this school.
It only goes from K-10, but next it will go to K-11, and the year after that it will be a full K-12 school.

Oh, and it is COMPLETELY FREE, So you don't have to pay for the schools or materials (well pencils and paper, but that is easy). I started in September and it is incredibly fun, you wake up whenever you feel like it and do a few lessons, since on average you only have about 3 a day. The web design is bright and inspiring and isnt stuffy and bland like other websites.

This school sounds great for you, since school is as long as you make it. You could spend 2 hours to 5 hours on work and it can be done ANYTIME of day you can start at 3 o' clock in the morning or you can do it at 6 o' clock at night! Plus you don't have to do it one class after another, you can break it up throughout the day to fit your schedule.

Luckily and surprisingly, I've actually received a lot of positive feedback about homeschooling my kids. You'll be able to discern the difference between "comments" and "criticisms" and respond accordingly. Many people "comment" because they don't know much about homeschooling or have a few misapprehensions. You can decide if you want to use this as an opportunity to educate them. Some people hand out criticisms starting with "I think..." If you don't feel like getting into a debate with them or you know they won't listen to anything you say anyway, you can just respond with "This is what my husband and I agree is best for our children" and change the subject. I would suggest trying to focus on the positives of homeschooling rather than the negatives of school, even though they do have an inverse relationship. Some people will take your decision to homeschool as an indictment of their own parenting choices. You can't help that; you can just try to respectfully walk away or change the subject.

I feel and share much of your pain, believe me. I am currently trying to find a homeschooling program for myself and my sibs. And finding one is probably going to be the hardest part of homeschooling. It helps a lot if you're only a freshman, they don't have to worry about counting up the credits earned and applying them to a program. I really appreciate the on-line courses though, and that is where I'm setting my sites for now. I really found this one on the great side, although my sis. disagrees because it is more of a challenge due to the credit situation I mentioned earlier. It is called American School. The website to go to would be:

http://www.americanschoolofcorr.com/academics_hs.asp

I found it very much to my liking, money situation and all. Check it out. Hope it helps.

In some states you can request homeschooling curriculum from your public high school. The American School and Penn Foster High School are good correspondence courses. In Penn Foster, you can submit certain tests online or by phone. The American School is entirely by U.S.P.S. Both of these are accredited. I personally went through the American School after two years of high school. I enjoyed it. Also, don't let people tell you that you miss out on a lot of good experiences if you aren't interested in partying. I was more social after I was homeschooled, than when I was in public high school.

You know who you sound like me...well if you hate it so much then it will get you out faster......But im worser i was the head bit ch in my school but one of my friends thought i was talking major mess about her so she fought me......i had no choioce but to continue going to that school my parents wouldnt let me leave...before that i got into another fight with this gang banger because she thought i banged which i didnt.......i had to continue going to that school with girls that i beat.....and i had classes with them too......nothing is wrong with you not liking school but everyone goes throught a time when they hate school.
After that my bestfriend was right there when i had both of my fights and she didnt even help me....we both broke up as being friends....from there my life was going down hill.....i felt like cutting school evreyday but i held it in and sooner or later i relizeed me hating them was holding me back....so i got all that i lost back but in diffrent people and in a better person.......So dont give up people will talk about you not matter how you look...you could be the prettiest girl in the world they will still find something wrong with you....so dont even stop and take the time of day to listen......Ive been through worser stuff then you and then more then i have told you...but really dont listen to those who hate, you love those who despite, you keep your enemies closer then your frineds, and you will never have to loose another friend and you will lose enemies. And you wont have to deal with those brats. And if you hate it that much my sisters have independent studies...its when you go to a teacher and she gives you work for a week then you do it and at the end of the week you meet with them again then she corrects it then you get your work for the week then it starts all over again.

Homeschooling can be a very good opportunity if you enjoy learning and studying on your own, which is good preparation for college. I have taught 8 children at home. My three oldest have received scholarships to college. My oldest has graduated from college now with high honors. My second oldest will graduate from college this semester and also has a 3.8 overall average. Both my sons have received the top scholarships in their colleges. I especially work with the younger ones, but in high school my older children work alot on their own. I believe this has helped prepare them for college work. We also are very thankful for God's grace and care. May God bless you as you seek Him first.

UTAustin has a distance learning program for high school. Check out the link below. I don't know much about it, but I'm sure you can find out more at the link.

The second link is a list of other university-based high school programs.

Here is a website that has pubic school done at home and it is free. http://k-12.com/

Other than that you could use Alpha Omegas Switched on Schoolhouse, which is computer based and costs $220 per year. Or really any other curriculum.

Here are couple that are based online

You sound like a good candidate for doing high school online. Check to see if your state provides free online high school. I know Florida does, and think there are many more. I wish you well.
