3,500 calories equals one pound of fat. As far as how much exercise per a day to lose 60 pounds, that depends on your goals. To lose weight as fast as possible, eat less - and when you do eat, make sure it's not junk (ie - yellow #5, "modified", words you can't pronounce, etc). If you're eating A LOT less, you want to make sure that your body is getting the vitamins and minerals it needs - you could even consider taking supplements to make sure you don't inadvertently run your body down. And, of course, exercise. When you use diet and exercise together, your body burns the fat ALREADY STORED - the stuff you want to get rid of!
There are several online calculators to help you determine how much exercise to do in order to burn "x" amount of calories. Remember, to lose one pound of fat, you need to burn 3,500 calories. Just remember to account for the calories you have CONSUMED that day, also. Once you figure out what activities you would like to do to lose the weight and how long you have to do those activities to burn "x" calories, you can use that information to figure out how long it will take you to lose 60 pounds.

Lose 60 pounds over what period of time? A healthy goal would be to lose that over 2 years.
Start with a health check up at a doctor's.
Then walk 10 minutes a day, 2-3 times.
Work it up to 45 minutes per day, over a month's time.
You should break out into a sweat.
Watch what you eat.
Cut all sweet stuff.
Cut beer. Don't drink your calories - no sweetened juice.

First start off slow as your body may not be used to working so hard. Try walking for 30 minutesd a day 4 times a week. Then start jogging and from then start running. You can always try low tensity aerobics then when you are more comfortable try the high tensity ones...they make you sweat!

The latest recommendation is moderate exercise for 30 minutes each day or shoot for 10,000 steps per day. See the food pyramid for the amount and number of servings of , milk, meat, fruits and vegetables per day.
Take it slow to start and work your way into a routine. You can do it!
Oh...don't weigh yourself. When you start to build muscle again, it weighs more than fat. You'll think you're not making any progress.
Take your measurements at your waist, hips, thighs, chest and upper arms to begin. Re-measure every week or two.
