Visualize a mirrored circle around you (shiny side out) and say to yourself.

"Thrice around the circle's Bound/
Evil sink into the ground."

That way what doesn't automatically bounce off of you, will sink into the ground, where it will be rendered harmless. :)

Wiccan Protection

Mind you, I'm not a Wiccan, I'm Ásatrú. I usually wear a Thor's Hammer which is a classic talisman of protection. I believe that Thor is an excellent God to pray to for protection, plus he is a very friendly and approachable God. I don't have an standardized or memorized prayers I say, I basically just ask him to give me protection and strength throughout the day. I believe it's always best to write your own prayers and speak from your heart when you're praying. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just sincere. :-)

If you're looking for a prayer book to help give you some ideas, I know there's one called "A Pagan Book of Prayers". You can buy it online or at places like Barnes & Noble.

I think you need to actually study Wicca and figure out what it really is before you claim to be one. Wicca isn't about spells. If you feel you need to talk to the gods (i.e. pray), then just do it. Why would a Wiccan need a pre-written prayer? I don't think I even want to ask what kind of "evil spirits" you think you need protection from.

Your own prayers do work best. Writing your own incantation is far more powerful than merely copying and reciting another's words. Your own will comes from the heart.

For inspiration, try meditating in a candlelit room, and will the words to come to you.

And no, you are not praying to a demonic entity unless you specifically choose to do so.

well, it would depend on which god or goddess, or combination of gods, and goddesses that you follow.

I am a Celtic Pagan.

Prayers and spells are really just us asking the gods for their help. there is a ritualized manner that many choose to do things in. I prefer the full ritual, i feel that i connect with the gods much better when i take the time to set a proper altar and spend some time writing a spell. but the Gods are not strict. you can simply ask any god that you believe in for some assistence.

for example i follow Cerunuuos, Morrigan, and Nemitonia.

Nemitonia is a Celtic Goddess of water, and is called "The Purifier" i call on her to create a sacred space and to bless ritual items. she is also good to ward off any negative energy or entity that may be bothering you. She can charge a stone, necklace or ring to protect you from negativity. basically creating a sacred space around the object that will travel with you.

a simple prayer to Nemitonia could go something like this.

Cast a circle, visualise a light or energy comming up through the earth into your body, and then focus it outward. use your pointed finger or a wand to direct it into a circle. overlap it 3 times. cast the circle Docil (clockwise)

Nemitonia, I Call thee ,come forth and grant me your protection.
(repeat 3 times)

Goddess of sacred spaces and clean water, I ask thee to grant your blessing on (object) and make it as a protection against all
energy and entities that would wish me harm.

(light some sage or sweet grass and let it smoulder to create smoke)

I burn this sacred (herb name, sage works well) and hope that it's scent pleases you.

(Pass object through smoke. and visualise the energy from the burning plant being absorbed by the object)

Purifier grant this object your blessing and make it's magic strong. please help me to remove the negativity from my life and home. Grant me the strength to face adverse conditions and the will to rise above them.

thanks to you Nemitonia, Purifier of sacred places and Goddess of water. your help is appreciated and welcomed, i bring bread and water to my circle to offer to you as your host. i must go now, you are welcome in my home and are free to stay or go as you wish.

cut the energy of your circle by slashing your finger/wand through it widdershins (counter clockwise)
(leave bread and water out for one day)

this is of course just an example, you can write your own, and will probably be much more successful if you do. just trying to give you an idea.

blessings

I just make stuff up as I feel like it. There are no "formulas". I don't follow any grimoire, book of shadows, or tradition. I don't see the need, as that's kind of like having a "denomination" who's rules you have to follow to be accepted. And part of the joy I get from my religious beliefs is from not feeling like I have to follow someone else's rules.

The best prayers are the ones that come from within yourself. If you need help getting started, imagine yourself surrounded by a warm, white light and work from there.
