The spiral rods I'm talking about resemble a candle. They do not bend because they are hard plastic. They are medium sized. A brand called Soft 'N Style makes them.

You use the rods the same way you use normal pins for perming, by wrapping/ spiraling the hair in them. I do not know the specific brand your using, but it SHOULD have a clip to keep your hair in it. The thicker the rod, the thicker curls and perm, the smaller the rod, the tighter the perm will be. the reason they use a long rod is to get more of a natural spiral curl. Hope that helps :)

Oh! Please, if I were you I wouldnt perm my hair because guess what? My hair is blonde and curly and thin and I have spiral curls but it doesnt look like Taylor Swift's hair. Im not trying to be rude but just you wont have the exact look as Taylor Swift. But you can go and do a perm if you want to. I wish I had straight hair like you! I would die for that! Curly hair is not all you think just saying. 1.) It might damage your hair since it is so thin. 2.)Im not sure if it will make you lose your hair. 8.)It probs will hold it down. Hope this helped! :)

I'm guessing there is a string that attaches at both ends of the rod. Just undo the string at one end of the rod and wrap your hair around the it, then click the end of th string back into the rod to hold your hair in there. Make sure you use papers if you're doing a perm, or you could burn the end of your hair off!
