Sometimes it is best to not say anything. If you do tell are you telling because you think they want to know, or to relieve your own guilt? Would it hurt him to tell him? Probably. Would your friend want to know if her bf cheated on her?

I have been cheated on, and although the consequences of being honest suck...It is always the way to go.
Not only for the reason of honesty and trust in the relationship...but STDs can be a concern too, and he has the right to know that he could be at a higher risk.
You never know, he may be willing to work it out...One thing is for sure, when you tell the truth, you don't have to work on remembering a lie!

Man, this is a tough one. I think I personally would tell, because otherwise there isn't trust in the relationship. But I can see where she wouldn't want to. Thing is, if he really likes her back then they can probably work it out. And if he would break up with her because of it, then the relationship no longer has a truthful foundation.
I'd say tell, and hope for the best.

Nobody wants to hear it. If it "didn't mean anything" then she'd just be stirring up trouble that they probably won't get through. Anyway, "cheated on him" implies they do have an exclusive agreement. Maybe she oughta rethink that. Its all about her anyway, what does she want to do here? Become a one man woman? Or keep her options open.

It's never good to cheat but since it has been done I being a guy would rather find out from her being truthfull and very sorry then hideing it and him finding out later and maybe ruining a chance with her being honest in the first place.

Honestly ... I think she should tell him. I don't doubt she cares - but I highly doubt she loves him as much as she thinks she does. If she did - why would she lay down with someone else? Why would she risk shattering someone's heart like that over a few minutes of lust? This young man trusted her with his heart and she went and messed it all up. She really needs to come clean with him.

If it is making her feel guilty all the time then tell him. If not, then don't. I have been a cheater and have told and not told past BFs. Sometimes you would be amazed by their reactions. If you truly love someone you wouldn't cheat.

If she cared, she would not have sex with someone, especially meaningless sex. Basically, she cheated, don't make excuses for her. If it was him, you would be running his name through the gutter. I am always amazed how people defend women that cheat, but men who do are lower than scum. She's unfaithful, disloyal, and not worthy of being with the guy.

From a male perspective, chances are he has probably cheated on her as well and said nothing...She should remain silent and go on with her relationship. However, if she truley cares about her boyfriend she should be very selective with the men she chooses to fool around with on the side. Married men would be her best option. Married men are very discreet about whom they have extra-marrital sex with.
Hope that helps....
P.S. please let your friend know that I'm married and looking ;-)
