My gross dog ate the cat poop in the litter box that had kitty litter on it. Will she like get sick or anything? No stupid answers, PLEASE! Thanks!

Some dogs eat their own poop, so I don't think you have to worry if your dog ate your cat's poop. I'm pretty sure kitty litter isn't toxic because if it was then it wouldn't be approved for cats. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Try keeping the kitty litter out of your dogs reach. Make sure you let her know that it wasn't good that she ate the litter or the poop. She will able to tell by the firmness in your voice. This should break that habit! I hope this helps!

That's not a healthy situation and continued, will eventually destroy the dog. I have on my farm, about 15 cats I use to control the rat & mouse population. My daughter gave me a purebred German Shepard she could not handle. The pup was only 18 months old. I could not break him of that habit ( eating the cat waste) because the cats did there thing anyplace they wanted to. Then I noticed the dog was losing weight and looked ill, so I took him to the Vet. The dog was LOADED with Cancer and had to be put down. In that sense, cats and dogs cannot cohabitate, unless the cats waste is disposed of before the dog can eat it. I also had a problem with dogs eating horse manure.

i dont know why dogs do that, but usually when a dogs eats somethng gross, its because they are lacking something in their diet.. ive seen dogs eat poop to get attention too... when a dog eats grass, its to make themself throw up... what id do is keep the litter box away from the dog, but so the cat can still get to it... put it up on a counter, or the old spray bottle ..when dog gets close to cat box, spray him with a water gun..( not a supersoaker, simple water gun)

yes.. its okay if the dog eats waste.
take him to a vet about the kitty litter. im not so sure.

don't worry dogs do that from time to time..i had a dog that used to do it all the time. It's gross yes...and i don't know why they do it lol but it won't hurt them.

That's funny, my dog did the same thing and then he licked my wife's face. I laughed so hard that I almost puked.
Try feeding it a cat instead.

mine did that and got really sick. He ended up in the vets office over night and then I had to for a long time feed him boiled chicken and rice is all he could hold down.
The vet said to them it is a tootise roll. They don't know it can kill them. Better get him to a vet.
