He asked me to go to the movie with him on Friday. We might also be going with his roomate. I am not used to guys paying for me so I dont know if he will be offended if I pay for my ticket. Besides, I don't even know if it is a date. Who do you think should pay?

Offer to pay for your own ticket. If he asked you then he should pay--but he may not. If you ask him then you should be prepared to pay. As a female you should always carry enough money to pay for your portion of the evening and cab fare home--just in case. If you come home with it all the better.

I think a guy should always pay if it's a DATE. But in this case, I would say u pay this time and if u two go out, then he should pay.

If he asked you out to the movies then I suggest he pay your ticket. Wait and see what he does and if he pays his own then obviously he better make himself clear next time he ask you out.

since he asked you, he should pay. but if you're not sure if it's a date, let him in line in front of you. this way you can tell if its a date or not. if he just buys one ticket, its probably not a date. either that or its a date but he's just rude and cheap. but if he buys two tickets, say something like, "oh thanks, i didnt know u were paying." just make sure you bring enough money for a ticket for yourself. good luck.

I always thought that the asker should pay, but just to be sure, let him in line in front of you and if he buys just one ticket, then you will know.

say he can buy the tickets and you buy the popcorn and drinks or vice versa!!! If your not comfortable with that, then just say you'd rather pay for yourself!! or your going to pay for lunch if he's shouting the tickets.

when you get there if he offers to pay ask him if he is sure and if he says yes let him don't feel uncomfortable but if he doesn't offer then just pay for your own ticket good luck

i would bring the money for the ticket, but he offers to buy then let him. do make a big deal about it. but i would say ussually the guy pays.

In this case..why NOT 50/50?...it always ends up best in the end!
I am so totally like you...I mean I appreciate the fact that guys have money, and a job, and stuff..but I am a very Independent person myself...such as yourself! =)
