You can place it under cool - not cold or freezing - water for several minutes.

Personally, I prefer to grab a glass jar out of the fridge and hold onto it for 10-15 minutes. After that, I've never had pain from any burn.

Never never put ice directly on burn areas as this causes blisters. Instead run tap water that is slightly cold or dip finger in cup of cool water to bring down the temperature.

Another alternative is to soak a small towel in cool or slightly cold water and wring it dry. Then wrap or place towel on burnt area. After that you can apply some antiseptic cream and bandage the area.

put it under cool, running water for 10-15 minutes. it should be running water as if it is placed in, say, a cup of water the water will warm up to the temperature of the burn, thus making the process redundant. don't apply any burn ointments of dressings that are dodgy. it's best to just let it naturally heal. if you want to dress it use a non-sticking (or non adhesive) dressing.

never apply ice to a burn as it is not safe for the skin tissue to go from one extreme to another. in some cases the ice may even stick to the burn, leading to painful tearing etc etc.

Well I guess it depends on how badly it is burned. If it is just minor, say reached for a pan out of the oven without an oven mitt kind of burn then some running cool water or an ice cube should do it.

When a burn first occurs place under cool water for about 10 minutes to cool the burning sensation. Watch for skin color changes such as graying, this could mean a more serious burn such as 3rd degree. See a physician.

Cold water and ice first. Hot water would be a mistake. Afterwards, aloe gel or neosporin.

Good luck!

cool water, not cold. dont put it on ice directly, that will kill the nerves and make healing harder. if you want ice, put many paper towels between the ice and skin to prevent ^ that. then put on some ointment and maybe a bandaid. not sure about the band aid. good lcuk!

Cool water or ice.

The quicker you bring the temperature down the less damage to your body.
