i had my wisdom teeth out earlier and now I'm really hungry. What did you eat right after you got your wisdoms out? it's been almost 5 hours, but I still can barely open my mouth. Any ideas for any like soups or something I can eat but will fill me up? or some other soft foods?

A soft diet is the bes thing for a few days following surgery. You could try scrambled eggs, yoghurt, jelly, custard, pasta, soup etc. You will gradually return to a normal diet once any jaw stiffness has settled. Very hot drinks and spicy food can increase pain and bleeding and should be avoided until the gum has healed. Also avoid alcohol as alcohol can increase bleeding and delay healing.
Don't suck through a straw as this will dislodge the blood clot that has formed and will cause bleeding and the area will take longer to heal.

Get plenty of rest and take your pain relief as needed.
If you are unsure or if bleeding starts, contact your dentist or go straight to the emergency room.

Hope you feel better soon

you can sip all sort of fruit juices, have somebody cook up some soup for you, have some apple dip, tomato juice with a little vodka, though probably it doesn't work with the antibiotics, hehehe; try the V8 vegetable juices, they're pretty good tasting if you crave something salty and they fill you up also. Other than that, just indulge with any kind of sweet juice that you would otherwise not drink cause of high calorie content or such things. Good luck! It'll all be over in ...5-6-7 days from now...

Instant mashed potatoes were my lifesaver after I had 4 wisdom teeth removed the friday before Thanksgiving. Warm, soothing...filling. I was able to carefully eat all of thanskgiving dinner 6 days later. 4 advil every 4 hours for the first 1.5 days took care of all the pain-per my dentist.

I just had my wisdom teeth taken out not that long ago. You can eat soft foods but make sure they are not hot, it could cause you to have a dry socket. (those hurt really bad) Don't eat nuts, popcorn or chips for a few weeks they could get stuck in the socket. Try to rinse your mouth out after you eat.

Got a blender? Make up a great smoothie. Put some ice
cream and fruit and whip up. Or any leftovers you have in
the frig. Just warm them up and blend. Any canned goods
like chili--warm up and blend. Can you get soft-boiled eggs
down? Oh a great one, soft and mushy french toast. DO NOT
rinse you mouth out very strongly. If you loosen the blood
clots where the teeth were--You're in for major pain and
probably infection.

The time I had my wisdom tooth removed, I used a straw to sip the porridge that I cook and it taste terrible with the cotton pad and blood in my mouth.

I think some creamy soup or oats can fill you up. I started eating solid food the next day after taking the cotton bud out of my mouth. I would of course prevent from chewing on that side where my wisdom tooth was extracted to prevent the stitch from breaking.

I tried Jello, applesauce, pudding.........The only thing that really filled me up and made me feel better was mashed potatoes. Milkshakes aren't bad either.
