Well, the holy grail is supposed to be the cup that Jesus drank from at the last supper. There are several movies about it, and King Arther's knights were always questing to find it. There are no accurate descriptions (that I know) of the holy grail. My favorite movie with it is "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade."

Someone asked a similar question yesterday.

The grail was supposed to be the cup used by Jesus at the last supper, and it was supposed to have been placed at the foot of the cross to catch the blood of Jesus as he died. People thought that anyone who drunk from the grail would be healed of any sickness.

I believe that the first time the holy grail was mentioned in literature was in the 12th century when a knight paid a scholar to make up the grail story to rationalize and promote his involvement in the crusades.

The idea of the "holy grail" does not come from the Bible. Yes, Jesus drank from a cup at the Last Supper, but the Bible doesn't refer back to it after that. People often wonder what happened to that cup or to the cross Jesus died on or to the burial cloths he was wrapped in. We have no definitive answer to those questions.

The Holy Grail is simply the cup that Jesus used in the Last Supper. Any other use of the term is metaphorical.

It's the cup of eternal life. You might say it is every ones purpose to go on a quest for the holy grail. If found the person has eternal life. If not the person rots in the ground. Another warning not to follow the herd? Hint: it is in you.

It was the cup he drank the wine out of at the last supper.
Now a book that says it is fiction is saying the holy grail was mary. Who was not at the last supper.
He said, this is my blood that is to be poured out in your behave.
It was wine not his blood but like many things in the bible it was symbolic.
People keep screwing it up with all kinds of wierd stuff.

The holy grail is the cup that Jesus Christ used at the last supper. It is said that it was also used to catch the blood of Jesus at His crucifixion.

Supposedly it was the cup Jesus used at the Last Supper. It hasn't been found yet. But it makes for a pretty good legend, and a cool Indiana Jones movie.

There is no such thing as the "holy grail". It is a fictional object in a fictional story.
