My Dr. ignores it when i tell him . Is this carpal tunnel syndrome ?
It's been like this for about a year. Is there any treatment ?

the numbness in my thumb is work related. I just wondered if anything can be done about it.I guess not .

are you serious? He ignores. Maybe he does not think it is that serious. Maybe you do have carpal tunnel syndrome if it has been like that for over a year.

Here's some info i found:
Initial treatment generally involves resting the affected hand and wrist for at least 2 weeks, avoiding activities that may worsen symptoms, and immobilizing the wrist in a splint to avoid further damage from twisting or bending. If there is inflammation, applying cool packs can help reduce swelling.

could be nerve damage
but my mother had the same thing and suffered a stroke (at age 49) just months later

Get a second or third opinion....whatever it takes to get someone to pay serious attention to your complaint.

get another opinion seriously. you may have a pinched nerve or something, or it could be worse, like you may have a tumor in your wrist. seriously your doctor is an idiot for not taking you seriously.
