When it gets warmer I want to get a tattoo on one of my feet. I already have one on my ankle, and now I was wondering if I should get one on the top of my foot, or closer to my toes, or actually on my toes. I dont think I want one on the bottom of my foot because how often would someone see the bottom of my feet. Has anyone had tattoos on their feet? Will it be painful, and where is the best spot on my foot to get a tattoo?

I have a tattoo on both feet on the second toe. I love them they look cute in flip flops, sandals, barefoot which ever. I will tell you tho that it hurt getting it there because of the skin being so thin. You may also have a problem with it fading faster there too bc of the thinner skin. It just depends. I didn't have to get a touch up for 5 years but I know some ppl that have had to get one after a year.

I am in the process of finishing my foot tattoo which is also part of a sleeve I am getting... It hurts... I wont lie... But depending on your threshold for pain you should be able to deal with it... after 4 hours of getting my lovely tattoo done I had to stop... my insides started to shake and my body was telling me enough... I thought I would be able to take the whole 6 hours in one shot.. but I wasn't it... When my tattoo artist hit some points on my foot it caused my upper thigh muscle to twitch and I had no control over it..

Everyone's body is different though.. so what may be ok for me may not be for you.. but just listen to your body whatever you do!!

I still have another 2 hours to go this coming Friday... and my foot and ankle just went back to normal... I was swollen for about a week... couldn't wear regular shoes.. had to take the laces out of my sneakers.. I had cankles! But it was all worth it...

Good luck!

and as for the best spot - That's totally up to you.. this is your tattoo so its wherever you want it... I have a scorpion that goes from my toes up my foot and onto my ankle...

I have a foot tattoo it is on my left foot right on the edge below the baby toe and the toe beside it and I found it tickled more that an it hurt for sure, and i have always found that the outline hurts more than colour or shading by far, and i would recommend getting it like middle of spring or just when it gets warm enough to wear flip flops or nothing cuz if you are going to wear socks for the first week or so oyu have to have it covered and it heals better when is not constantly bandaged

I have a tattoo on the top of my foot..I would not wait till it gets warm..Get it now so it will be all healed up and nice by the time the warm weather gets here..Takes a little longer for the foot to completely heal...Mine is on the top and side of my foot..I can show you a pic if you like...It is a bit of a different pain when it comes to the foot too...And as for the bottom of the feet it regenerates skin so there is no point in putting it on the bottom or to far down on the side of the feet..But I say go for it..I love mine!

I have a tattoo of 5 butterflies on my foot, ranging from big to smaller for each one... I didn't think it hurt that much. I have one on my lower back as well and I thought that that one hurt worse than my foot. You don't want the two tattoos to clash though (The one on your ankle and if you get one on your foot). I was thinking about getting one near my neck but since I have one on my back already I didn't want it to look dumb. Anyway, the tattoo on my foot goes across the whole foot. Not much pain-but everyone is different :)

I got a tattoo on the top of my left foot last summer. The tattoo itself didn't hurt too bad, but it was slightly swollen and painful for about 2 days afterwards. It also didn't help that I'm constantly on my feet at work, and unable to wear sandals to work. I went to a local shop that did a fantastic job. It took almost 2 hours, but well worth the time and the slight bit of pain I experienced afterward.

I have an ankle tattoo and 2 other tattoo's and i am getting 1 done on my ankle hopefully this summer! I don't care if it does hurt or not i want it so it will be worth the pain and I feel I will put it in the spot I want it in on the day I go to get it done!

It hurts but not too horribly. I wouldnt get one on your toes unless its part of a bigger tattoo on your foot. Tattoo ink all changes after time..and it'll have to be pretty small to go on your toes ..from far away it'll just look like you have dirt stuck to your toes. I got an angel on my foot.. my tattoo artist told me I had to sit with my foot elevated for about a week so that my water weight wouldnt push all the color out. So if youre planning on getting it done make sure you have about a week to let it heal. If you go back to wearing normal shoes before its healed you could mess it up.

I know a woman with a Hawaiian flower tatto on the outside edge of her foot between her little toe and ankle and its very feminine and cute!! It is pretty in the summer time. She can wear different shoes to cover it or show it off. She said it hurt, but no more than any other tats.

i have a tattoo of a butterfly on my right foot close to the bottom(kinda on the edge).that would be a good spot for it. also you want to get it done in the summer because you wont be able to wear anything but flip flops or shoes with your feet exposed.i was so scared to get mine but after it was all done i loved it.but let me warn you. it hurts like hell.especially when he got close to the edge of my foot. it hurted so bad that i didnt want any color because just the outline hurted so bad but if you dont mind a little pain i would definitely recommend it. i have gotten a lot of compliments on it and it also adds to the the sexiness of wearing cute flip flops or sandals. good luck
