Be careful with this question.

Plants do both photosynthesis and cellular respiration.
-- In photosynthesis plants take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen.
-- In celluar respiration they use oxygen and release carbon dioxide, just like we do.

Humans do cellular respiration (to get energy to run our cells), but we can never do photosynthesis. So we take in oxygen and release carbon dioxide.

Plants "breath" in carbon dioxide, and "exhale" oxygen.

Humans breath in oxygen, and breath out carbon dioxide.
