I am sending out wedding invites in a couple of months, but I want to ensure that when people RSVP with a guest that they put thier name and also thier guests NAME on the rsvp so that we can do place cards and also know the names of the people who are coming (out of politeness).
Also, a friend of mine suggested doing this as well bc a lot of people RSVP themselves plus guest, even when they have no clue who thier date will be, and then when they don't find a date in time, you are stuck paying for a person who never even came. This way people have to KNOW who they are bringing when they RSVP with a guest.

Just make it so there is a place on the card that says
GUEST NAME: _______________
People will fill it out. you don't really need to explain, not in my opinion anyways

For our RSVP card we had a line underneath saying
_____# of people attending
______Sorry we cannot attend.

It was great to help us tackle #'s. Also if people don't know the name of guests, on place cards....put--- John Doe's guest (or date)
