OS stands for Operating System. Asking if a Mac (assuming you are talking about the computer), that is like saying is a PC an OS. Mac is just the computer that runs whatever OS you own on it. Same with PC, Windows the is OS you run on the PC. Mac's run Operating Systems such as "Panther", "Tiger" and others, just random names for the OS. i run an OS 10.3 or .4, which is the most current i believe.

Mac is a computer put out by Apple computers. The operating system Apple uses is OS X. Not Windows

mac is apple. apple makes the OS and the hardware. that's why they work soooo good!
