My partners mother needs 2 Gallstones removed but is determined to rely on folk medicine to cure them. I have little knowledge on the effect of Gallstones on a persons life or the operation required to remove them, I am hoping somebody can provide me an idea of whether any type of folk medicine really can help her (I'm very skeptical) or if anybody can give me an idea how easy the operation would be for her? Any help will be most gratefully appreciated.

They removed my gallbladder in order to remover the stones and prevent others in the future. The operation was simple and painless with minimum scarring. 3 small punctures in the abdomen and a cut at the navel. I stayed in the hospital for less than 48 hours. It was quite painful when the gallbladder got inflamed. Also for years my back hurt and got cramps but once it was removed all symptoms cleared up

They can in lieu of taking out the gall bladder do a sonogram and break down the stones that are then passed out.

I am not sure what folk medicine can do. I heard about drinking cranberry juice to either dissolve or prevent. That part of the treatment is sketchy.

In Scotland they don't remove only the stones they remove the complete gall bladder by keyhole surgery, but personally I have had 5 gallstones since 1973 and don't plan to have anything done about it but I have to watch what I eat as certain food can affect them. The doctor can give you a list of foods to eat and avoid, don't eat fried food, curry's most dairy products including milk and chocolate, the diet you follow is similar to someone that has heart and artery problems, vegetarian diets would help.

dont be skeptical about the nature cure, be skeptical of the operation. the long term effects of not having a gall bladder is really hard on the liver. and the liver is a very hard working organ. it is a very necessary organ and we should be super careful with it. i personally would not want to burden my liver like that. i have gall stones, i use a herbal formula by Quantum herbal products, they have a liver/gall bladder formula and and detox formula.
there are also enzymes to use for helping the gb break down....ness18. and there are nature cures,
www.getridofgallstones.com - there is a book they sell, it seems very good. some use magnesium citrate instead of epsom salt...go for it, be in contact with them for support. again, i would never let them take out my gb, they it is a no brainer operation, thanx, but no thanx.

The operation it self (in Canada) is very simple and is day surgery. My ex daughter in law - just had hers done and she was left with a few tiny scars as the operation does not open up the the abdomen any more - they use a scope and a tiny little new tool that removes them - easy as pie.

It is routine for a patient with gallstones to have their gallbladder removed. For me, the surgery was very easy. It is performed laproscopicly. Just three small cuts. It is not advisable to treat it on your own.

My husband had his out. It was very easy. They made three small holes. Short surgery. Easy recovery.

Don't rely on home remedies. My husband waited too long and his gall bladder was almost gangrene. He thought he couldn't afford to take time off work.
