Adding salt makes the water denser. Denser water is heavier for a given volume, the egg displaces a volume of liquid.
If the egg is heavier than the weight of the displaced volumn the egg will sink. If the egg is lighter than the weight of the displaced liquid it will float.
A side note: a rotten or bad egg will float in fresh water...The freshest eggs will sink the lowest.

Very nice all that about density increase... still I can propose another effect
An egg is nothing but a huge cell with a protecting hard membrane. This membrane is somehow porous (believe it!).
When you add salt to the water, ionic balance is gone, and water from inside the egg migrates to the exterior, reducing the egg weight. The inner air reservoir grows in volume, too. The resulting egg is slightly lighter, and this added to the changed density of salty water makes it all...
btw, this is why adding salt to boiling eggs will avoid (most times!) them from breaking
The dehydration effect is too small. However, for science experiments, you could study the impact of different salt concentrations in an egg batch (different salt content, same time), or rather study the effect of a big salt concentration (constant for a given batch) with different actuation times - put all eggs at once, and each 5min or so take one out... weight difference may not be measurable at all, and not all eggs weight the same... you should weight them before the experiments, too.
Have fun!

When you add salt to water, it dissolves. This increases the specific gravity of the water which means it can make things float better. An egg is just dense enough to sink in plain water due to its weight and size or density. The water is made denser by adding salt letting it make things float better.

The density of an egg is just a little higher than water, so it sinks. Adding salt to water fills it with ions (sodium and chloride) that raises the average density above that of an egg, so it then floats.

When you add salt to water the average distance between the molecules gets smaller making the solution more dense ... remember density is unit mass / unit volume. Something that has more mass per unit volume can exert more bouyancy on an object floating in it.
A thing will float because it is less dense than they liquid it is floating in so the volume that it displaces of that liquid equals its mass in the more dense liquid and part of it can float about the liquid.

Salt causes the density of the water to increase hence the egg is able to float in it.

Salt raises the specific gravity of water. It is the reason why you are able to float easier in the ocean rather than in fresh water.

WHEN SALT IS ADDED TO WATER IT CREATES AN EQUILIBRIUM AND HAS BALANCE SO THE EGG WILL BE ABLE TO FLOAT IF IT IS PUT IN SALT WATER.
