I am heading to NY in Feb. and need a new suit (and a real jacket; I'm from somewhere warm.) Where would you recommend if anywhere that can alter a just purchased suit near Times Sq. same day and is still somewhat reasonably priced?

Macy's herald square - about 8-10 blocks away.

Almost all the Good hotels near times square are expensive. You can find little hotels with 'reasonable prices' but be careful, as some of them don't have private bathrooms. They have one or two bathrooms per floor. I almost fell for it because they don't tell you that when you are booking, I found out by a review that I read. Sure, the prices were good, around $50 or $60 per night... I ended up staying in the Dream hotel which is a boutique hotel at 55th Broadway. It's a nice hotel, small and cute. It also has a great restaurant, Sarafina. The price was $400 per night (yeah, expensive). Another option would be the Wellington Hotel. It's located at 7th Ave. 55th street. It's close to everything. I just checked now and the prices are around $120 to $300. I saw this hotel and I know it's very nice. I have a website about this hotel that includes some photos if you want to see it. I hope you have a great time in New York! It's a lovely city.

I think everything in Time Square is expensive. But let me know when you find out!

Not in that neighborhood, maybe in Chinatown, or the Garment District
