The guy I was dating (in his early thirties) told me he was breaking up with me because his married friends told him when they found their mate they just knew and after dating me for 4 months he didn't feel that. Is this an excuse or is that what men are looking for?...FYI his best friend is getting married in a few months.

When my fiance and I first started dating, we knew we were perfect for each other.
3 1/2 months later, we were engaged.
However, this isn't the case with all relationships.
In my opinion, the guy you were dating is too easily influenced by his friends. He feels as though everyone around him is falling in love and/or getting married and he is scared that he won't find "the one."
He's looking at this as if it's a race to the alter.
Although, I know a lot of men in their late twenties and early thirties that face the same fears of never finding someone who's right for them.
He expected love to blossom almost immediately and it doesn't always happen like that.
Chances are, he'll end up lonely because love happens when you least expect it.
If he's out there looking for it, he's probably going to have a hard time finding it.
You can't force love to happen. If it does, that's great but a lot of times love is a gradual process.
Move on and find someone else and let him find things out for himself.
You are better off without him and you can find someone who actually does love you and want to spend the rest of their life with you.
Good luck!

Yikes...run fast in the other direction...sounds as if this guy has some real growing up to do and you are much better off without him. Just think if he is that apt to listen to his friends on his relationship and then actually tell you that his friends told him to break up with you...then chances are this guy really can't do much on his own. Picture life 20 years down the road with him...am sure he would have you tying his shoes and probably spoon feeding him...of course after he got permission from his friends. Run fast in the other direction...you don;t need that drama!

You are a lucky girl! I'm not kidding. Most guys would rather take advantage of the company of Ms. Wrong than be alone, stringing her along until he met a better one. He isn't wasting your time -- or his own -- and instead is keeping his options open...and letting you do the same.

Such straightforward honesty and above-board behavior is rare in guys these days. Enjoy the experience.

Sounds like he is a little silly and immature to me. You are better off without this guy. Relationships are worth spending time on, if he really thinks he will know in an "instant" he is going to be one very lonely old man. Good luck, be glad to be out of it now.

You can never know if they are right for you... you both are the ones that make it right for each other...
If he is to listen to his friends on how he should live his life... I'm not sure if that's the man that is fully committed to you...

Clear your mind before you jump into any conclusions, when your mind is clear, have a think about it.

Don't you want to be with someone who "knows" you're the right one? Don't you want to feel the same thing?

I'd give him a little respect for him moving on, especially if he ended it in a polite manner.

Next!....
