I don't know how long you have once you've found out to decide.. but I do know that if you decide to get out,. it will happen quickly.. and the birth will NOT be covered.

and no saying "yes, I'll stay" just to have the birth paid for and then trying to get out.. it won'thappen.

Dont worry about the time. You can always get out of hardship chapter 11. I had two soldiers that were pregnant and both left on hardship, never even heard of a time frame. That way you still have insurance with VA. This is a big decision, dont worry about the time, there is always a way tot get out, once you have a little one becuase of the family careplan

When I was in (retired '85), the woman had 2 weeks to decide to get out or accept TAD orders until after the baby was born. I really don't know what the rules are now, so the best thing is to go to the personnel office and ask them. They have the latest and greatest on pregnant sailors.
