Pull the surrounding hairs away from the ticks body. Take the tweezers and grab the tick as close to the buried head as you can possibly get. DON'T squeeze. Pull gently up and away from the dog slowly to be sure not to break off the head of the tick. Toss tick in toilet and flush. Wash your hands and your dog's skin with anti-bacterial soap.

If you suspect you may have left a piece of tick still embedded under your pet's skin, call your vet immediately, as ticks can carry a variety of diseases that are passed on to dogs.

i can't believe all the people that would stick a burning cig to their dog..... gheesh....... pour some peroxide on the tick head, it should kill it, or some rubbing alcohol if this doesn't work, & in the future, when using the tweezers, grab as close to the head of the tick as possible, not the back end of the body, ticks can be difficult to get all the way out & do break off easily, THEN burn them........easiest way to kill them........... if your dog is properly vaccinated, he should be ok, but if he's missed his shots, you may want to consult your vet about maybe running some tests to make sure the tick didn't give your dog a disease, then get him his booster shots, frontline & similar products do help, but don't always keep all the bugs off, so if your doggy goes outside regularly (or stays outside) be sure to check him often for more pests so they don't stay attached to him for a long time............i hope this helps & you can fix your doggies problem

wat i would do is where the tick is shave part away of the hair so u can see the lump. then take some salt and put it on ur dog u can take rubbing alcohol and put that on ur dogs skin. try a burning cigarette. that seems to work. u could try vassalene. and if u think u got it out i would still take ur dog to the vet just to make sure u got it out. if u pulled the tick out straight the head should've came out with it to. some of these things might hurt ur dog but keep ur dog pinned so in case it hurts him when u do the cigarette u won't burn ur dog. well good luck!!:)

Pull it off with tweezers.

Try feeding the dog garlic tablets. The tick won't like his "flavor" and should pull out when he can.

You can also smother it with vaseline or olive oil.

Otherwise, use small, sharp tweezers to pull it out.

You are supposed to use a credit card to scrape it off. Gently though.....it will come out. The match is only to make the tick back out, but, if it didn't try the old credit card trick!

Fleas are a major pest. There are various species of fleas - cat fleas, dog fleas, rat fleas and rabbit fleas.
You can get rid of them by the safest and cheapest methods like boric acid.
