President Bush seems to think it is a good thing, and so does the prime minister. I think they know best, after all they are world leaders.

It is not a good idea to nix more troops going to Iraq. That, along with some of the politicians telling us to get out of Iraq NOW are playing right into the hands of the terrorists. We will continue to be perceived as weak and cowardly.

Withdrawing troops before the job is completed weakens us and makes it much more likely that more of our troops will die. We all know that there is strength in numbers. Why can't we see them as fellow Americans who need both emotional and physical support and extend it to them? Our politicians are thinking of what sounds good instead of the horrible results their actions will bring.

The Military leaders want more troops on the ground in Iraq so I can only assume that they know what they're doing and support THEIR decision. One of the major problems we had in Vietnam was too few troops in country. Sure, VN had several other issues, but troop numbers was one of the major issues.

The troops are going and we should support the individulas in uniform no matter what.

I was in Iraq during OIF 1 and OIF 3 and I would say that we needed to be there to support Iraq in establishing a government. I think three years out there is enough. We have too many US soldiers that have given their lives and also currently dying for Iraq. Iraq in my opinion is not even trying to step up and relying too much on US resources.

Well it really doesn't matter anymore now does it? Pres. Bush has already got our men and woman so deep in this thing, if he brought more, a lot of them would continue to be hurt, like the ones now, and if they didn't bring anymore, then the ones over there would just continue to get hurt. Thanks a lot Bush. I am half and half on this whole war issue. I do not want our men and woman over there being killed and harmed, but if we didnt go we'd keep getting terroristic threats. so in a way, we need to bring them all home. But what will happen when we do??

I'm not sure where I stand on this, but people should realize that the General himself has asked for the troops, they can't support what they are doing over there, they make a change but have no back-up to keep it going....I think Bush is trying to listen to what the authorities in the military are asking for...

The best way to keep the Iraqis and our troops safe IS to have more of them. More troops mean more peers to cover your back. More troops mean less violence.
It may sound wierd to those who don't understand, but the more troops we send in there the safer both us and the Iraqis would be.

It's just like if you have a city and you increase the police force and put more cops out on the street you have less crime, because you have more eyes and more security.

Americans need to look at this realisticly. More troops does not equate to more violence.
I work with juveniles and believe me, we have much less fights when we are fully staffed.

I say lets get some crazy people here in the US and take them to the border of Iran, give them bombs and let them go into Iran and bomb their people and buildings, with suicide bombers, then they may think, well our plan isn't working in Iraq, now we're getting bombed in our own country by these crazy American Christians, what have we started and how can we stop it.LOL
