Depends on how long you got. London is great but think you need more than 1 day there and you cant beat a dirty weekend in Blackpool (but wait till its warmer believe me its cold up there even in the summer)
Alton Towers is a good 1 day thing and I think at some point in your life everyone should go John o groats its very remote but its mad to say you've done it.
Torquay is lovely and Brighton is wicked, Newcastle is a great night out on the razz.
Stone Henge is bizarre to see although you aren't allowed to touch it anymore.
Isle of white is quite scenic and the people are very hospitable, and you cant beat sitting on the Heads of Ayr with a four pack of Tennants Lager watching the sun go down.
Newquay is charming and Great Yarmouth is a buzz but there's no where like home

Why does everyone say London?????????????????
London is a capital city like any other. Go to Manchester from there you can visit the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Liverpool, Birmingham, Leeds, Glasgow, Edinburgh, North Wales, Chester, need I go on????
Manchester has lots of things to keep a tourist occupied, museums, shopping, football, night life and the people are rather friendly! You can go to any bar or nightclub in Manchester and I can guarantee if you talk to people you will have a fantastic night out. Its cheap to eat out and there is something for everyone.
I just find London, a cold faceless city that wants to suck all your money out of you.

I'd recommend Dawlish in Devon, especially by rail from Exeter. In fact go all the way to Paighton and back or on the route of GWR to Plymouth. Or if you have road transprt, take a ride from Buxton through to Maccelesfield on the A537 - commonly known as the Cat and Fiddle. The scenery is awesome, but if you go in Summer watch out for mad bikers and car drivers.

Has to be London, that's a cool city. Cornwall is beautiful, I love St Ives. I love Devon and I love Pembroke. I went to Tenby last year and I love it. I've never been to Scotland but I hear Edinburgh is a great place.

York is amazingly staggering. it extremely is a pedestrianised historic city with the a number of oldest preserved streets interior the united kingdom and has a staggering Minster. even though it relies upon what you're searching for. in case you desire to party, try London, Dublin or Manchester. in case you desire someplace picturesque, try the lake district.
