You've never heard of someone having an evil twin? Clearly, only one of the twins gets a soul.

Don't forget, sometimes an embryo absorbs another embryo in the womb. What happens to the soul of the absorbed one?
Also, about 30% of fertilised eggs miscarry naturally. does the soul get a mulligan?

>>I think this pretty well establishes that souls are NOT implanted right at conception, don't you?<<
No, not at all. At the point a new individual comes into being, God just creates another soul.

Wow, I never thought of that before.
It's a great argument, and it reinforces my firm personal belief that the soul does not enter the body until after birth takes place (specifically, the arrival of the soul is what causes the infant to take its first breath). Of course, this is merely my opinion, but it makes sense to me.

You have indeed brought up a good question. However, since I believe that God created the universe and has since then kept everything in its place, I do not find it hard to believe that He can supernaturally create a second soul for the twin. It would be EASY street for Him.

Actually, the evidence suggests that identical twins SHARE a single soul. That's why they feel the same things even when seperated at birth, and feel incomplete when so seperated. Add the apparent psychic connection between them and you have a fairly strong argument that they do indeed share one soul.

Nope, God knows what He's doing and life does begin at conception. Read Psalms 139.

It is not difficult for God to work out issues of this type.
Two souls coexist within the body of every mother, as well.
Don't worry about it.
