It's starting to seem like the only thing we can be sure about is Nothing.
I hate faith because if it's all just what we believe- why does every single person's various beliefs even matter? Why does it matter that I have faith if their is no proof of anything?

Socrates felt he was truly wise becuase he knew that he knew nothing. True, you can be sure of nothing. But the beauty in life is filling that void with what you believe.

I'm a firm believer in the concept of faith in evidence.

I cannot prove to you by the scientific method that George Washington ever existed. But I have a good basis for believing in his existence even though I've never personally seen him because there is an overwhelming amount of historical evidence to support that belief.

I believe that this type of faith (in evidence) is significant and more consequential than a personal belief bereft of any evidence.

You have to go with the best available evidence and be willing to adjust when it changes. Most of what holds us back is preconceptions about the truth, not our inability to find the truth.
