it started about 2 weeks ago, he sees a baby, on TV, at the store or in a book and he has to ask... "What's that baby have on his butt? is it a diaper?" then I say yes, and he asks "What kind of diaper?" Why is he suddenly so interested in diapers? is it just a stage he's going through? he's been potty-trained since he was 2 yrs and 3 months, and it only took 3 days.

It is just a phase. Today it is diapers, tomorrow it could be dinosaurs. Children change their obsessions frequently. If you want, you could buy him one of those dolls that comes with diapers so he can feel like he is changing the baby himself.

I am sure it is just a curiosity, a phase. Let him understand that he is a big boy and does not need diapers and that diapers are for the little ones (use term babies if you wish) help him understand that being potty trained is a good thing.

He is probably just interested because he does not recognize them from when he wore them, and if you don't have a younger child that is still wearing them then that also may be just another reason for his curiosity. I don't think it is anything to worry about.

That's normal. You should see my son's cousins-they are all potty trained and want to gather around him when I change him because he wears cloth diapers-they never seen them before. They ask tons of questions and tell him that he wears "cool cute diapers". My son also giggles at the pampers commercials for some reason-he's a toddler.

Wow, your lucky to have your child potty trained already. I think its just a phase hes going through. My son is totally into video games and pretty much dos the same thing as your son and he hardly even plays video games. I think he'll get over it. Just as long as he doesnt go back into diapers.

LOL! Kids get fascinated with the most amazing things. My 3 year old suddenly wants to know if the pictures of babies everywhere (on toy boxes, in magazines, etc.) are him when he was a baby, and if they're not him, what is each baby's name? I'm running out of names because he remembers each one that I've told him ("Oh Andrew like that other baby Andrew"). P.S. Congrats on the quick potty training!

Childhood curiosity, in part. Another part is interaction with you. Kids love to ask questions because 1) they want to know stuff, and 2) they like it when you look at them and give them an answer.

Humor him and give him a big hug. He'll grow out of the diaper thing and move on to flowers or car seats or bugs...
