you can start the joining process for the army at 15 years 11 months consisting of having aa chat with the careers office personel.
Then going back to sit an entry test a sort of basic IQ test consisting of maths, english, basic mechanical awareness. once sucessfull then you have a series of interviews. At the interview you would be told on how well you've done on the test & also what regiments you could apply to join.
At the end of the day you go into your nearest Armed Forces Careers Office & have a chat with them & get some information at any age, Don't just be channelled in thinking only the Army, there's also a range of good jobs also in the Royal Navy & Royal Air Force.
Good luck

You have to be 18 to join on your own, but if your keen enough, why don't you join the Army Cadets and get a head start for being a regular soldier.

The ASVAB will determine what you can be, and if you are not 18, your parents can sign, along with you, to let you go in early, but I think the minimum is 16, and even then, you have to already have your diploma or GED.

17 with parental consent. 18 without. You can be in any field if your male. If you're female, you can be any in non-combat field.
EDIT - tenu g, it is U.S. law that all females cannot be in an combat-related MOS. Look it up.
