i have a 8 week old bug that i got at 6 weeks. he is actuallt 75% pug and 25% boston. Anyway, i wanted to no when i could take him on short walks. I live in albany and it is cold now, and he seems really cold when we are transporting him. It seems like he has a lot of energy and needs to release it, and our apt is fairly small. Any help would be great.

I would start walking him asap. It teaches him the leash and the proper way to walk. And yes it will release some energy. I have a boxer who freezes in the winter time. We got her a coat to wear outside and it seems to keep her warm.

They are a very very good dog breed. And for those calling these dogs mutts, look at the lineage of your supposed Pure Bred dog sent from heaven above with no human crossbreeding, BIG NEWS, THEY WERE ALL MUTTS AT FIRST!! .(Self righteous morons).. Anyhow, We have an AKC english mastiff, AKC boston terrier, and recently aquired a 9 mo. old bugg as a rescue. Her temperment is amazing. she instantly loves anyone she meets, loves being on our laps, sleeping under the covers. She is for the most part lazy, but she has outbursts of play times, ten minutes at the most, then its back to the lap.Gets along just fine with the other dogs. Definitely has boston terrier traits, but also has others that I'm assuming are the pugs. Our boston has very few and predictable traits. So does the mastiff. With the bugg you get a little more IMO. In short, she is THE best dog i have ever owned, and i would not hesitate to get one. But if you are gone alot, its not fair to any dog, especially ones that are such human lovers. Get a cat for that.

You shouldnt take him out yet because he is too young to withstand the cold. Wait until it can withstand it. A good excercise for dogs that must stay indoors is jumping. Hold a toy over the dog and he will jump for it. This is a very good excercise and they have a lot of fun. Also try tug and war. Get a long chew toy and let him bite one end. Pull and the toy and the dog will pull back. My dog loves to do this so maybe your dog will too. Just make sure you dont go to hard or it wont be fun for the dog.

first of all you have no idea of the %'s...second,,, you can put him in a sweater or something of the sort... walk and walk fast you won't be too cold and neither will he,,,and if he is you will know it is time to go back in -- might want to wait for long walks until you dog is fully innoculated
