I am a bit torn when it comes to Muslims. While I realize that the majority of them are good people, of which could be compared to the average Christian.. they carry luggage. By luggage I mean that there is clearly members of their faith that are to extreme. Muslims will become outright frustrated with this, and I understand but at the same time they must understand where we stand.

If at this time in our modern society there were as many violent acts done throughout the world by Christians I would feel the same way in general about Christians.. It is just the fact of the matter that there are not nearly as many violent acts being performed by Christians.

In general I look down upon the religious because their beliefs are all faith based regardless. I have a hard time trusting a group of people that base their reality on what I would consider to be superstitious faiths.

Christians have proven to be on the most part trustworthy.. Muslims have a long way to go before I feel the same towards them.

I always try to avoid judging people as a group or just by their associations. I believe it's better to judge people as individuals. Stereotypes are almost always false.

Thus far, all of the Muslims I have met in person seem to be kind, cordial, peace-loving, and sincere in their beliefs. I don't know what they would be like when angered, afraid, or starving, of course. Extreme circumstances can often bring out the worst in us. There are certainly bad Muslims in the world, just as there are bad Christians, bad Buddhists, and bad atheists. I have no respect for anyone who would kill over cartoons or murder others just because they are not of the same faith.

Dapper Napper raises an excellent point, but the question wasn't "What do you think about Islam?" Obviously I don't agree with all the tenets of Islam, or I would be a Muslim. There is much to criticize about the religion of Islam. Many Muslims would agree. One can criticize even that which one loves.

Lol Blackacre, I must say I get a kick out of you.

As for the question, I know a few muslims. I love each one. My daughter dated a muslim boy for awhile. He still calls me once or twice a week, and they haven't dated for a year and a half. He's a wonderful boy. I love him, he will always be one of my children. I have a couple of online muslim friends, I adore them. They are wonderful. Just like the others on here have said, there are good and bad in every religion, people are people.

I think I can sum up my feelings for Muslims fairly easily:

The only good Muslim is...

Most Muslims.

Muslims are very good people. The majority of Muslims practice their religion on a daily basis, like praying 5 times a day, fasting Ramadan, alms-giving, remembering God, and observing the teachings of their religion.

I think more Muslims practices their religion on a daily basis than most Christians.

About time someone asked something this interesting. I'll echo what some others have said, people are people no matter what they believe religion wise. Having said that, I think they need to develop some critical thinking. From what I understand of Islam, there is plenty of room for dissent on the validity of their religion. I'm not saying it is false, but I certainly wish that their religious leaders would start examining the way their religion enslaves the people who are victims of a culture that doesn't value all people equally.

They are wonderful people, except the oppression against women. Perhaps, we should raise our call for the Muslims men and children to do something for enhancing the fortune of their long-suffering ladies.

They're people. And they're Muslim. Pretty much what I think about a Christian person or an Athiest person... they're people.

Some are smart, some are dumb: roughly the same proportion of each as in any group.

Re: Daf S (below): are you commenting upon Muslims in general, or are you commenting upon the bombed out residents of an Afghani mountain village that you saw on TV last night on FOX news? Muslims cover the whole range, much as Christians do. If you were to judge all Christians by those who show up on the Springer show, you would probably find that Christians are... uneducated, uncivilized, ummm... close-minded and sexist... and fairly unhygenic.
