Better to be honest from the start.
As a teen and wanting to keep your relationship with your parents a good one...Honesty is the best thing for you.

If you're not honest they won't know if they can trust you.
And then that closes the door later for things to do and other people whom you choose to hang with.

Sit down and talk with them....they may not like it however you are doing the mature thing.
And they will respect that.

Best wishes

You've been going out for a couple of days..Of Course you feel this one is different. Wait a Month or 2 or as long as possible . Get to know him a wwhollle lot then you will really know if he's different. For telling your parents..i think you should tell them and tell them how old he is. You should say something like "Mom I have a boyfriend..he's 17." They'll probably throw a bunch of crap at you but just tell them you wanna be with him for a little while and Figure out if he's the right person for you and you wont get too serious too fast. The only reason you shouldn't tell your parents you have a boyfriend is if you dont disscuss other things with your parents like problems you have at school or with friends, basically dont tell them if all you guys talk about is where your going or what are you doing.

Ask him over to your house for dinner so you can introduce your parents to your boyfriend instead of just saying you're dating someone and they don't have a face to put the name with. Talk to them about it first and make sure they're okay with it. If they're not, you're young anyway and have plenty of time to date later on in life. Don't get too serious with this guy until later on (let's say if it lasts for 18 months.) Just remember he may want to move on one day too, so try to keep it safe and don't give up too much.

Sometimes it's easier to tell your mother in first, in private and then break the news to your dad with your mother present. Let them know his name, his age, what he does, where he lives, what he's like. Make sure they don't feel like you're keeping things from them and at the same time that you're not seemingly obsessive (that triggers a big warning sign in parents and they won't like him as much.)

Give it a shot set a nice dinner for everyone and talk to them while hes around & ask him to ask your parents if its ok with them that you guys are dating. Of course if it doesnt work out the good way give it a shot still if you can. You never know if its the right person till you try. Good Luck

oh gosh. i hate involving my parents in my relationships because then they think they know what you two r doing, or going to do. if you really want to tell them, just tell them. maybe over dinner. but don't make it seem like a big deal to u cause then it will be an even bigger deal to them.
