what is a good prayer i can present infront of my class tomorrow, that no one had heard of--i don't want prayers that people already know. it could be about peace, love, hope, faith, being strong, forgiving!!!
just give me a long prayer, that people know and is not often used.
thank you!!

Try this, it is called THE ROAD AHEAD...
MY LORD GOD,
I have no idea where I am going.
I do not see the road ahead of me.
I cannot know for certain where it will end.
Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think that I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so.
But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you.
And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing.
I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire.
And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road though I may know nothing about it.
Therefore will I trust you always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death.
I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone.

A "prayer" is you talking to God. First things first. "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth" (John 4:24). If you do not first have a live spirit, you cannot talk to God.
Having a reborn spirit, prayer is simply talking to God about your concerns and the concerns that He puts on your heart. Imagine your friend coming to your door, and when you open it, your friend takes out a piece of paper and begins reading from it, "Oh Great Friend, how art Thou?! I hath come this great distance to implore your merciful favor . . ." You'd put up with that foolishness for how long? God does not want pre-written prayers. He wants you to be honest. He already knows your heart better than you do. He wants you to be honest with what your heart is and tell Him what's on your heart.
In front of people, the only appropriate prayer I can think of is evangelistic. Unsaved people have no ability to know peace, love, hope, faith, or forgiveness until they lay down their war against God and accept the Holy Spirit. Any prayer before that point is getting the cart before the horse and is a waste of time. God won't hear it.

A good prayer is one that is prayed directly to God from your own heart - and you can be sure that no one has heard that one before because it will be in your own words. Write out a prayer that includes all of the beautiful virtures that you have mentioned here, and before you write ask God for His wisdom and guidance.
He will hear, and answer - esp. if you want to give Him the glory.
All the best,
KB.

Hi Romeruse,
Sometimes trying to think of what to pray without repeating something that most other people have already prayed can be frustrating. You might want to go through the Book of Psalms and see if there is something there that the Holy Spirit will prompt you with. Psalm 91: 5-13 talks about not being afraid of the terrors of the night and God gives His angels charge over you.
You might want to focus on how God uses His angels to guard us and protect us. But we have to call upon God to do so.
Blessings upon you. I hope this helps.

Usually, prayers are something personal so I would recommend writing one yourself. It is about talking with God. If you need a formal prayer, use the Creed. It is a testament of your faith. If you need a bible verse, search google for verses on peace, love, etc.

Pray about it. And remember you are praying to God, not to impress your class. Pray about what's on your mind and it will be a good prayer before God which is the important thing.
If you're really stumped, try reading one of the prayers in the Psams.

well, i honestly think that you should pray about something that you need and what is your heart...prayer is a conversation between you and God. i'm not 100% "holy holy", but i thought i could help a lil. what did your teacher tell you anyway, did she say it had to be a long prayer or memorized from somewhere, just wondering?

show me a sign today that you paid attention to any one of these things that I created, and bring them in a way that I won't expect, so I'm as surprised at my ability to be able to experience these things. And make it so that I have no doubt that it's come from you,' and so I live my life, in a sense, all day long thinking about being a genius or thinking about being the glory and the power of God or thinking about being unconditional love. "
this is interesting one , if you like use it
