No i am not a weirdo or anything, just I really enjoy having my dog around--I have a lab, well she spends some of her time with her dad(my boyfriend) and some time with me, but most the time with her dad, when I go over his house on the weekend I see her and sometimes take her to my house for a week or so. My boyfriend claims it's his dog, but she is totally a mommies girl, cuddles up to only me in the bed etc, well when i leave or take her back I feel like I really miss her, bad. just curious if anyone else ever feels like this. I love my dog, I spoil her rotten. She is just a great lab.

This must be a Lab lovers thing, they are sweethearts! I hate to be away from my Lab puppy for too long. When we go shopping in the next town over, I tell my bf, 'I have to get home, we've been gone too long."
He always figures it out, "Honey, are you missing the puppy again?" he asks.
"Well yeah, duh...sheesh" I answer sheepishly cause I just know he's teasing me yet again.
I LOVE MY LAB.
I feel justified cause unlike his spoiled, older beagle, my dog is smart and not lazy.

Yes, I do feel the same way about my two dogs. They follow me all over the house and want to do whatever I am doing. Like my bigger dog likes to walk on the treadmill with me. Anyway, I had to travel on a plane and couldn't take them with me. The whole time I kept wondering if they were doing ok and missing them. I think that the majority of dog owners probably feel similar.

You must be a dog- lover, like myself. Nothing wrong with you! Here's my suggestion, get married so that you don't have to spend all that time away from your dog. (ok, seriously, there are other things to consider besides the dog) Can you imagine how difficult it would be if you were divorced with children and had to allow them to stay with dad so often? Good luck with your puppy girl! Hope you find a way not to miss her so much.

Yeah. I moved across country and had to leave my dogs with my parents a long time ago. When I got back for a visit, my dogs were no longer my dogs, but my parents'. It was for the best at that time in my life, as I was very unsettled, but it hurt.

At least my girls were well taken care of.

Yes, we leave our two dogs every day. We leave animal planet on so they have something to listen too, leave tons of toys and distractions around, and they go to doggy daycare at least one day a week. However, I still feel guilty leaving them! And, I think I would be much more productive at work if they were allowed to come with me! They are like babies, and I miss them so much when I am not with them!

I missed my Golden Retriever so much I quit my job, moved from Alaska to Reno and bought a dog day care and training facility so I can be with her (and my other dogs) 24/7.

Now, I just miss the health insurance and benefits I had before becoming self employed....:-)

I miss my boys every day when I go to work (12 1/2 year old lab and 3 1/2 year old Aussie). I have a pet-nanny that comes in mid-day to walk them, play with them and give them love.

Almost everyone feels that way. Like me and my Jack Russell Terrier. It is just a sign of love for your dog.
