The most common reason for this to happen is when someone sits on their foot or has it in an uncomfortable position for too long. But if your foot is tingling and falling asleep even when you are moving it around, it could be anything from a pinched nerve to a serious spinal cord dysfunction. There are just too many variables to tell. You need to see your doctor and explain the symptoms so that he or she can help you figure out the issue.

Possibly a pinched nerve/sciatica.
Introduction
The longest nerve in your body, the sciatic nerve runs from your pelvis through your buttock and hip area and down the back of each leg. It controls many of the muscles in your lower legs and provides feeling to your thighs, legs and feet. The term "sciatica" refers to pain that radiates along the path of this nerve — from your back into your buttock and leg.
Sciatica isn't a disorder in and of itself. Instead, it's a symptom of another problem involving the nerve, such as a herniated disk. Depending on the cause, the pain of acute sciatica usually goes away on its own in six weeks or so.
In the meantime, heat and cold applications, over-the-counter pain relievers, and exercise or physical therapy can help ease the discomfort of sciatica and speed recovery. Surgery to relieve pressure on the nerve may be an option when symptoms of sciatica don't respond to conservative treatment and pain is chronic or disabling.
I had a similar problem. Noticed a tingling feeling in my right foot while standing in the shower. Experienced lower back pain. I used both a chiropractor and medical massage therapist to help relieve the tingling.

If it does that a lot, then thats kinds weird and you should llike see a doctor or something. If it does it every once in a while then it's perfectly normal. That actually happened to me for a long time today. Don't worry if you hardly every get it. everyone does. And it usually happens when your foot is titting still for a really long time.

I get numbness and tingling in my hand while holding a book when reading. The numbness appears in whatever hand I'm using to hold the book.

How are you sitting? You are probably cutting off the blood flow. Get up and walk around and get your blood circulating! :) Good luck!
