I like this guy. Hes shy and so am I. He rarely will start a conversation, but once I say hi he'll come over and talk to me. He stands close to me, but sometimes I'll back off a little then he does too and crosses his arms. he looks me in the eye when he talks to me. I do like him, but am confused. Does it seem like he is interested?

I'd think so. If he wasn't interested, would he come by to chat? I'm a bit shy myself and I find myself with my arms crossed sometimes... doesnt mean I'm not interested. He's just shy, maybe he is thinking the same way? Why does she back away when we are together... stuff like that...
You should see if your feelings grow and if they do, ask him about how he feels. Assuming leads to too many problems =[

YEs he is very interested in you, he is shy but when you start the conversation it means to him he can get up to you and chat. But dont back up because he's is trying to figure out himself if your interested in him./ SO next time you see him start the chatting and when he gets close you get closer and tell him how you feel. HE will tell you to how he feels . SO go get him before someone esle does.
