I agree but unfortunately some think their religion or non-religion for atheists think they are right and nobody else can be. This is extremely narrow minded thinking. I personally don't push Christianity on anybody, I only answer questions when asked why I believe as I do. It's right for me but may not be for the next guy. Peace :-)

In what manner does "asking about Jesus" constitute 'religious intolerance'?
A common misconception is that Jehovah's Witnesses go from door-to-door because they feel it is their duty to "push religion" on a householder, or get him to "convert". In fact, Jehovah's Witnesses would go from door-to-door even if there were no hope that anyone would change their religion, or even if no one would listen to them!
That is because Jesus Christ specifically assigned the house-to-house ministry to the Christian congregation, with no regard for specific results.
(Luke 10:1,2) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.
Jehovah's Witnesses are trained to direct attention to the bible, and move on when their message is unwanted. Since each congregation in the United States tries to call at every home in its territory at least twice each year, there is strong motivation for them to move on where little interest is shown. Also, the Scriptures help the Witnesses to expect little interest from most:
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching ...and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

Until a few years ago a person's religious beliefs or lack of beliefs was personal.
People didn't have the need to blast it from the roof tops and we seemed to respect each others privacy.
Maybe we should go back to that because it's really nobody's business and 99% of the time you don't change what you believe because of what somebody said.
**Note...I'm an atheist but I've never told anybody there is no God...for me I just don't believe...for you, make up your own mind.

I'm curious how Jehovah's Witnesses who come to your door out of unselfish love, can be considered intolerant.
I am glad that you have a strong faith, as many of the people we encounter at the door do. However, there are some we find who are struggling with life, have no belief system in place and are looking.
If no one came to that persons door, how would they come to find a relationship with God? I believe that is why we follow Jesus' command so diligently. We are looking for the people who are looking for God and haven't found their way to him yet.

I am Catholic too and I seriously believe that a lot of Christians think they have made it and are carbon copies of Jesus, and yet when do we read of Jesus being a bigot to others even the pagans were treated with the utmost respect by the Lord,so which of us is wrong?

Firstly, not all atheists stuff their beliefs down people's throats, not all Catholics try to damn others to the fiery pits of hell, and not all Witnesses knock on doors. The unfortunate thing is, there are people of each religion that feel theirs is "the right one" without any firm, physical evidence to support their claim, and they think everyone else is wrong. I dislike all bible/belief-thumpers and try to shove COEXISTANCE down people's throats, not intolerence.

Can I quote you on that last sentence? Hearing any Christian say that on this board is extremely refreshing...
AS far as the rest of the question- This place is a nice punching bag chock full of willing vict...um... participants, that you can vent all religious frustrations on. The incredibly vicious attitude of some of those with lower intellects (from any side of the argument) is also a great source of creative fuel for artists and musicians (like me).

All religions are practically the same. Prophets, Supreme Beings, Life After Life. No real need to think one any better than another.

Education is the key. If it were mandatory to learn about different religions there would be more understanding. Also, I think that realising that all religions hold some truth... perhaps together they may add up to a whole truth.

Another broad-brush painting. Not all atheists just run around willy-nilly trying to tell people "there's no god", knocking on doors etc.
Where do people get this stuff?
