in answer to your first couple of questions... yes, perhaps, god married adam and eve.... but ACCORDING to the bible... god doesnt manifest himself on earth anymore.. and now our only connection to god is THROUGH the church.
and yes the divorce rate is high... but you are thinking of it not only from people of faith (who get married trough the church) but every marriage.
also, keep in mind that IF a married couple gets married in the church and gets a divorce.. those two can NEVER eat the communion again.

Marriage is only holy if done in the context in which GOD intended for it. Anything we do outside of GOD's will is sin and is not acceptable to him and cannot be blessed by him. Sex outside of marriage is called fornication in the bible and is not looked on favorably. Look up fornication in the bible and you will see ,it is always mentioned in a negative framework. If a couple is deeply in love and committed to each other(and GOD) then they will want to wait, so they will be in line with GOD'S will. People do determine if they will commit too each other, but if this commitment is not rooted in GOD(who is love) then often times these "commitments" fail. If you are trying to change GOD'S mind about this or think maybe he missed an angle, I don't think it will work. There is nothing more beautiful than a man and a woman in a GOD filled, loving, committed relationship. ...... EC 4:12.....and a three fold cord is not easily broken (1)GOD(2)man(3)woman

This can be confirmed by Jesus' words: "Whoever divorces his wife, except on the ground of fornication, and marries another commits adultery." (Matthew 19:9) However, a person who chooses to use Jesus' statement as a basis for divorcing an adulterous mate is not doing something that Jehovah hates. It is the unfaithful spouse's deceitful conduct that is hated by God.
What’s Wrong With Premarital Sex?
if two unmarried people engage in oral sex or in fondling each others’ reproductive organs, they are guilty of fornication.
The Bible exhorts Christians to flee not only from fornication itself but also from all forms of unclean conduct that could lead to it.# (Colossians 3:5) However, premarital sex is nothing more than the “temporary enjoyment of sin.” (Hebrews 11:25) It can cause lasting physical, emotional, and spiritual harm.
each year millions of youths contract a sexually transmitted disease (STD).herpes
Then there are the spiritual and emotional aftereffects. Premarital sex can wound the conscience of a God-fearing youth
Sexual relations are a gift from God, a gift that is to be enjoyed at the appropriate time—when one is married.

actually you are not too far from the truth.
God DID marry EVE and ADAM!
and no marriage is ordained of God because there is no marriage in the resurrection.
Unless of course the authority to Bind and LOOSE is found on the earth, to marry and divorce.
but even still in the next life the PROMISE of the HOLY Ghost must be given for a man and wife to be SEALED or Married.
Eternal marriage was a revelation given to me that No christian church receives as true sound doctrine. but yet I received the revelation! Marriage is ordained by GOD, and what God does is eternal.
if two people are NOT married in the next life and they are truly in love, then it will be up to Priesthood holder and the HOLY GHOST to JOIN THEM.
but for the most part! marriage on earth has an End when people are dead.

It's all about control. Marriage done with a religious official is a choice not a necessity. I do not believe couples need that sanction if they do not desire it.
As far as sex, I believe one should wait only until they feel they are responsible enough to deal with all the ramifications it can bring. Marriage is not a necessity for sexual relations.

We all have the ability to choose our own path through life, and no one should be preaching to another about choices.

understand that these rules were written by a bunch of hairy old monks in a Abby whose interpretation of marriage was when they had one of the choir boys bent over the communal rail.
