Today is my birthday...and my boyfriend who plays hockey three nights a week already..agreed without asking me to play hockey again tonight. My birthday. He already got my present. And we didn't really have any plans yet. But do I have a reason/right to be mad here?

Is he being an insensitive lout? Yes, of course. He's a guy. He's wired that way.
Tell him that you'd like him to take you out for your birthday and that he needs to find a sub for his game.
