This link is to the John Day fossil beds in Oregon. What's neat about this place is that the hills are made up of layers of fossil deposits that had different climates and completely different animals over a span of about 15 million years. Its amazing that one place, through time, can be a decisuous forest, a desert, and a grass land with completely different species.
