It's really annoying when you are driving as you can't see them until they get close.

Agreed. They must be utterly stupid. They seem to have the impression that wearing safety gear (lights, helmet, high-vis jacket) is uncool.
No doubt they'd try to blame you if you hit them.

i have three front light, two back lights on my bike and i wear a reflective jacket when i ride my bike. The problem is that some motorists are too dumb to use there eyes. I think riding a cycle should be included in the driving test so that all motorists have an awareness of cyclists.
as with everything, there is allways a minority(bad drivers /cyclists) that give people a bad name
.
why don't you try cycling youself and see what it is really like.

If there's no punishment then you can't expect anything else. My son received a fine more than 15 yrs ago for not having lights on his bike and quite right too, but now you can get away with mugging and murder....... thanks to Mr Blair

because they are idiots and arent following the law.. every state that i know of requires lights and reflectors & lights.. i guess its the same reason bicyclists think that STOP signs dont apply to em.. they are &^%$#*^ IDIOTS.. I laugh my *** of everytime one gets creamed by a car.. (I dont like em much.. I'm actually a person that had $1500 damage to my car by a bicyclist... forst words outta my mouth when HE HIT ME? Are you hurt? you better be cuz if you arent I'm Gonna hurt you bad.. then i called the cops)

Because they have no common sense. Especially the young ones they think they can just ride out in front of your car and you,ll just stop for them.

coz they are stupid and want to be hit by a car so then can sue you! mostly though its not cyclists that are serious about riding!
