Macromedia's Flash Player not working for me!!!?

Question

Ok, I can't watch any flash videos (ie. YouTube, Myspace videos...) and I can't play any flash games online. Everytime I try to do it, it says that I need to install Macromedia's Flash Player or get the new version of it. So I go to the website to download it then I follow all the steps until it says that a pop-up widow will soon come up asking me where I would like to save the file. This never happens though. I wait, and I wait, but nothing pops up. I know that if I have a popup-blocker than there's a little golden bar that should come up on my tabs but that doesn't show up either. Has anyone have any ideas on how to fix this at all? It would really help!
