I can't find reference anywhere to what kind of degree he has or who granted it? If his degree is Ph.D. what is the field? I'm looking for some tangible "verification" of his credentials.

Most authors would state this sort of thing very clearly.

who knows. look at the reviews at Amazon. fairly clear argument for self promotion rather than honest reviews.
Hence, the DR. may be fictitious. look at "other reviews" by
the reviewers.

my impression, lightweight books for self promotion and
making cash rather than providing info. probably a few good
pictures though, if you're into that.

plus I don't want to read anything that names a webite after
themselves. shows what they are really thinking about. but that's just me.

I dont think he has a degree of any kind at all. He just seems like an average Joe who likes dogs and wrote a book using all the general knowledge he accumulated over time about dogs. It includes a lot of made up and mythological stuff, so nobody takes it seriously, but he has also forwarded many animal rights movements and gotten a lot of crooked vets in trouble as well. So he appears to be on the side of the animals, but he just doesnt have any real experience to back up any of his claims.

For some more credible people in the field on dogs, read works by Richard Stratton and Diane Jessup.

Carl Semencic

Dr Carl Semencic, an anthropologist who has a life long interest in dogs and their evolution, and has written three best selling books on the subject, theorized that brachycephalic (short-faced) breeds, like the Pug and Pekingese, were developed by the Chinese influenced by the invasion of the short-face Mongols.<< http://www.cyclingforums.com/t-348682-15-7.html

So, according to that, I would think he has a doctorate degree in anthropology.

RE:
"Dr." Carl Semencic wrote three books about "fighting dogs." What is his actual degree? DVM, PhD, MD?
