My daughter just barely started getting nose bleeds and I was told it was because she lacks a certain vitamin. Does anyone know what vitamin it is and any ideas to get this to stop.

I've had nosebleeds since I was a kid but mine are hereditary. The veins in my nose are very close to the surface. I haven't heard of a vitamin that could help, but a multi vitamin couldn't hurt! By the way, the dr. told me they could fix my nose by cauterizing the inside and I decided just to deal with it!

I can think of several vitamins that might help. A good children's multivitamin should do the trick.

But more likely, it's that the mucus membranes in your daughter's nose are being dried out by the winter weather and dry heat. Try adding a little humidity to the air. If you don't have a humidifier, put a pan of water on the stove, with the eye just barely on. And maybe you can add things like potpourri or certain spices to make it smell good. My mother used to use stick cinnamon, orange peel, and I think nutmeg and cloves.

Good luck!

I never heard that one but if you give her a good multi-vitamin, it should take care of all her needs. Also, she might have dry nasal passages, get her a saline spray to spray up her nose. If it doesn't stop in 2 weeks, take her to a doctor.

I heard it's an iron deficiency. But it could just be that the lining of her nose is thin.

Tell her to keep her fingers out of her nose and don't blow hard.
