Like the previous person said, it should be counted into all those things, but I was unable to find anything on the CDC website.

Most people don't general die, just from using herion. They die from mixing drugs & causing an overdose. Or from diseases by using dirty needles.

This isn't so much an answer as a comment. You might be able to find some statistic like this on the CDC website.

I wonder what to count though. Should all of these deaths be counted:
- Death due to heroine over-dose
- Death due to HIV, hepatitis and other infectious diseases aquired through IV drug use.
- Death due to accidents associated with heroine intoxication. Include the use only or any innocent victims too.
- Deaths due to drug violence and gang violence.
- Deaths due to terrorist sponsored by drug money.
