I HAVE BRED CHIHUAHUAS IN THE PASSED AND HAD THE BREED ALL MY LIFE. THE UTMOST CARE IS NEEDED WHEN BREEDING THERE DOGS. IN MY OPINIONS ONLY PEOPLE WITH THE UNDERSTANDING AND KNOWLEDGE SHOULD ONLY BREED. BREEDING AND REARING PUPPIES IS HARD WORK. IF YOU INSIST ON BREEDING PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH READ BOOKS RESEARCH INTERNET TALK TO BREEDERS. YOUR CHI WILL COME INTO SEASON BETWEEN 6-9 MONTHS 6 MONTHS IS THE MOST COMMON AGE. YOU SHOULD NOT BREED WITH HER TILL SHE IS FULLY MATURE 18 MONTHS ON WARDS. TAKE HER TO THE VET TO MAKE SURE SHE IS IN GOOD HEALTH YOU AND TELL THE VET YOUR PLANS ON BREEDING HER. MAKE SURE THAT SHE IS BIG ENOUGH OTHER WISE IT WILL KILL HER. MAKE SURE THE MALE CHIHUAHUA IS SMALLER OR AROUND THE SAME SIZE.

Please, don't breed her. Chihuahuas are known to experience complications during giving birth, and if you are not,a very experienced chihuahua breeder, and very careful, both the mom and the puppies, could die. Is that really a risk you want to take? Being that Chihuahuas are so tiny, only a very educated and experienced breeder should breed. Also remember that breeding requires alot of responsibiliy, and can be very expensive.

a dog should b at least a year old before u breed them but they can go into heat as young as 6 mo. Make SURE the dog u breed her with is no bigger than she is or u could very well kill her when she gives birth.

A female dog should start their heat cycle around 6 to 9 months of age and have one twice a year about every 6 months.
She needs to be at least, on her second heat cycle before you breed her.

I don't mean this in a bad way, but you need to know alot more than the answers to just these questions before breeding, and also that chihuahuas commonly have serious problems while giving birth due to their size. Please have her examined by a vet before and during pregnacy and do as much research as possible to be prepared.

do you know the risk in breeding a chihuahua? you should let the professional do that. and it really pulls the chihuahua down and make her look so bad. once they are bred it is harder for them to get back in shape. and harder to show later. the risk is very high. ask your self how much do you love your chihuahua.
