I've suffered from earaches for many years. I recently found a couple things that are quick and easy. You can get Simalasan drops. They have drops for several things including earaches. You can get this at Target, Walmart, or Wild Oats, etc. I also found an ear oil at Wild Oats that is called Garlic Mulein Ear Oil. That helps too. Ear pain is miserable and I hope he feels better soon. :-)

3% hydrogen peroxide, 3 drops in the ear, let it fizzle itself out in the ear (warn the child that it will do this). Carefully clean ear out with Q-tip. Repeat H2O2 every 4 hours, until pain is gone, 1x per day for a few more days. We do this for a cold/sore throat, too. Seems to help a lot of the time.

The fizzling is the release of oxygen when it comes in contact with germs & such. IF there are no such things, there will be no fizzle/release of oxygen.

roll up a couple pages of the news paper and stick the little end into their ear and light the big end with a match and let it burn like only half way down and then take it out of their ear. No it doesn't hurt them and if you don't trust that then put a couple pieces of garlic on the stove and let it burn a little bit and then wrap it in toilet paper and put it in their ears but make sure it isn't really hot. Let it cool down first.

When I was very young my Grandmother would make us pee in a cup and put a dropper full in the ear. it worked wonders. Something about alkali. It has to be your own pee and it has to be warm.

Take a heating pad or hot water bottle and have him lay his ear on it. This should help temporarily

My grandfather smoked a pipe and would blow smoke in my ear and then put in cotton. It really helped.
